World Oceans Day is an international day established by the United Nations, and is held every year on June 8th to recognize the importance of the ocean and to raise awareness of issues related to the ocean. World Oceans Day was proposed at the Earth Summit held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, and since 1992, various events and campaigns have been held around the world. World Oceans Day aims to widely publicize the richness and importance of the ocean, as well as promote efforts to protect marine life and address the problem of marine pollution. The ocean is one of the most important ecosystems on Earth, providing essential resources for our lives and economy. This year, the period from May 30th (Zero Waste Day) to June 8th (World Oceans Day) will be called "Spring Zero Marine Waste Week 2024", and a nationwide clean-up campaign will be held.
